Manna- The wonderful Diet for the Israel People.

The Israelites had departed from Egypt and floundered in the desert for 40 years. Unable to find enough meat, they had to exist on God’s provision, “manna from heaven.” [Exodus 16] The Israelites sent scouts throughout the land to survey potential aggressors before entering Canaan, and found a race of large men, located southwest of Jerusalem. [Deuteronomy 2: 11, 20] It is said that these giants made the Israelites feel as small as “grasshoppers.” [Numbers 13:33] The giants were a vanishing breed by the time the Israelites came out of Egypt. They were likely a meat-eating tribe of people. The largely plant-food diet of the Israelites may have resulted in shorter stature but also may have lengthened their life span and given them other advantages over their adversaries.
Though the Israelites complained of the harsh experiences in the desert as they wandered for 40 years before entering the Promised Land, their sparse diet was preparing them for what lay ahead. Similarly, during World War II the British were forced to ration meat, dairy and alcohol, which resulted in improved health and decreased mortality. [The London Times, 7/7/99]
Obviously the Israelites had acquired tastes for the foods they had in Egypt and longed for them, but they were now in the desert and had to live off a different land. They “grumbled” against their leaders, who made them aware that their unhappiness was against God. First, families of quail arrived to provide the hungry Israelites with meat. Then something uncommon happened. A layer of dew was observed around the Sinai desert camp in the early morning, and as it evaporated, it left a “fine flake-like thing” on the ground. They asked: “What is it?” Moses said, “It is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat.” They gathered it every morning, and had to eat it readily since it became “wormy” quickly. The manna was baked, boiled, ground in mills, or beaten in a mortar. [Exodus 16:23 and Numbers 11:7] The whole nation of 2 million had to exist on it for 40 years. It was described as like honey and oil.
Historians have suggested that manna may have been similar to droppings from certain shrubs or trees, which have been collected by Beduoins, but Smith’s Bible dictionary says “manna was always regarded as a miraculous gift directly from God, and not as a product of nature.” Whatever the manna from heaven was, it had to have been an unusual provision that only existed for a time. R.H. Harrison, in Healing Herbs of the Bible [1966], suggests manna may have been a provision from God as a species of algae or lichens. In modern times the nutritional qualities of algae are well known. Well-known algae species, such as spirulina and chlorella, provide important B vitamins, minerals, vitamin A from beta carotene, essential fats and other nutrients. [Healthy & Natural Journal June 1997] However, these are dark-green species of algae. The manna in the Bible is described like coriander (greyish in color). F.S. Bodenheimer, in the Biblical Archaeologist (1947) suggests that manna may have emanated from a species of insects that secrete a honeydew-like substance rich in carbohydrates. Beduoins today gather a secretion of a small insect off the twigs of the tamarisk plant. The Beduoins gather it early in the morning, just as the Israelites did, before the ants have a chance to get to it. In good times, a man can gather up to four pounds each morning. [Food in Antiquity, The Johns Hopkins University Press, Baltimore, 1969] There is good reason to believe the manna from heaven was a product of nature, though not a common one. The more that Christians continue to disregard natural explanations for these Biblical explanations, the more difficult it is for many to believe in the Scriptures.

What does the Holy Bible says aboutthe real way of Nursing Mothers

A few years ago it was "out of fashion" for mothers to nurse their babies. The Nestle Company was severely chastised in the American natural health press for selling an infant formula in Africa that lacked necessary nutrients. Thousands of malnourished babies with permanent brain damage resulted. We never saw the Nestle Company recant. With problems of clean water and sanitation in Third World countries, the last thing they need is to bottle-feed their babies. What the Almighty created to be a natural process, and which almost every woman is physically able to do, some reject as an "old fashioned" custom. The Bible stands forever. Nursing is the Bible way. Scientifically, it is the superior method.
I Thessalonians 2:7 (NKJV), "But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children." (See also verse 11.)
Moses complained to Yahweh for all he had to put up with, leading the children of Israel out of Egypt. "Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the suckling child, unto the land . . . ," Numbers 11:12. Jacob blessed Joseph with "blessings of the breasts, and of the womb," Genesis 49:25. Of the Messiah, David prophesied, "But thou art He that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope [margin: keptest me in safety] when I was upon my mothers breasts. I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mothers belly," Psalm 22:9-10.
Ephraims punishment is "a miscarrying womb and dry breasts," Hosea 9:14. The Eternal can teach knowledge to those weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts, Isaiah 28:9-11. God will never forsake His own, Isaiah 49:15, "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee." To those that flee during the Great Tribulation, " . . . woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!" Matthew 24:19, Luke 23:29.
To Jesus, " . . . a certain woman of the company . . . said unto Him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But He said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it," Luke 11:27-28. Psalm 8:2 (cited by Christ in Matthew 21:16) reminds us that "out of the mouths of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength."

As Shirley was nursing Amanda, there was certainly the feeling of strength and security in our lives. Nursing is beneficial to mother and baby. It is a wonderful thing the Almighty has created. A far cry from artificial methods. As Amanda was safe and secure in her mothers arms, so we should be reminded that we are even more safe in the Eternals bosom.

CONCLUSION

As we watched our little bundle of joy wiggle and coo, we wouldnt trade what we went through for anything in the world. Sure it was labor. And it continues to be labor as we care for and raise the new baby. But, this is as it should be.
"Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which He hath given thee . . . for that is thy portion in this life, and in the labor which thou takest under the sun," Ecclesiastes 9:9.
We encourage couples to have their children as naturally as possible, without drugs, medications and other unnatural methods. The mother should nurse the baby if at all possible. Prepare for the birth of your child, and for the many years thereafter of rearing them with love and discipline in the Eternals ways. Take the awesome responsibility to train up a child in the way he should go, so even when he is old he will not depart from it.

what did the Holy Bible says about Vegetarian Diet

While the Jewish people were in imprisonment in Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonian king, recruited the most talented and intelligent young Jewish boys to serve in his palace. They were forced to adopt the customs and religious practices of the Babylonians. The Jewish diet was largely comprised of plant foods because of prohibitions against consumption of unclean meats. So thorough were the attempts to brainwash these young men of their former culture and faith in God, that four boys were given new names by the king and became known as Belteshazzar (Daniel), Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The king lured the cooperation of these young men by setting aside daily rations of the “king’s food,” choice meat and wine. But Daniel resisted the king’s food, insisting he would not defile himself, since the meat offered by the king had been sacrificed to idols first.
The commander in charge of the boys feared they would become pale and less energetic than other boys who consumed the king’s selected foods. “I am afraid of my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink; for why should he see your faces looking more haggard than the youths who are your own age? Then you would make me forfeit my head to the king,” said the commander.
But Daniel responded by saying: “Please test your servants for ten days, and let us be given some vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then you let our appearance be observed in your presence and the appearance of the youths who are eating the king’s choice food; and deal with your servants according to what you see.” So he tested them for ten days. And at the end of the ten days their appearance “seemed better and they were fatter than all the youths who had been eating the king’s choice food.” And so the boys continued to eat vegetables, and exhibited unusual intelligence and the king favored them in his service. [Daniel 1: 1-20]

This account in the Book of Daniel is authenticated by modern science. Today there is avid enthusiasm for vegetarianism, particularly due to the emphasis upon eating more fruits and vegetables to maintain health. Although iron in plant foods is 10 times less absorbable compared to iron from meat, the incidence of iron deficiency anemia among vegetarians is not significantly greater than that of meat eaters.

Resent studies confirm that those who avoid consumption of iron-rich animal products and solely consume a plant food diet, do not become anemic. The increased vitamin C in the diets of vegetarians increases iron absorption from plant foods.

A study of 11,000 vegetarians in Britain revealed their mortality rates were one-third lower than meat and dairy consumers.  Another study shows that vegetarians have half the mortality rate from cancer and a 60-percent reduction in cardiovascular disease.
